Biography

I am a third-year PhD student at the School of Nursing. I am originally from Oman, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University and later earned my Master’s degree in Advanced Nursing Practice from the University of Glasgow. I am a hematology-oncology pediatric nurse with teaching experience as a part-time clinical instructor for undergraduate nursing students at a College of Nursing in Oman. My research interests include examining the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP)/ Large Language Models (LLMs) approaches for extracting and characterizing patient tolerability of pediatric cancer treatment.

Since beginning my PhD program in 2024, I have been part of Dr. Montgomery’s lab, where I have gained valuable research experience through insightful discussions and constructive feedback. Participating in lab activities has helped refine my research focus and shape my future program of research. In my free time, I like hiking and cooking with my kids.
